For one of our clients operating in agricultural commodities trading, we are looking to recruit a Grain Trader with expertise in African markets to be based in Geneva.
Your mission:
- Develop and manage a portfolio of clients and suppliers in the grain sector
- Analyze market trends—including supply, demand, and price-influencing factors—to identify and seize trading opportunities across the African region
- Negotiate purchase and sales contracts, oversee the execution of transactions, and ensure compliance with quality standards and delivery timelines
- Work closely with logistics, finance, and inspection teams to ensure a smooth and efficient supply chain
- Identify and manage financial, logistical, and compliance risks related to grain trading in Africa
- Organize regular international business trips
Your profile:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in grain trading, with proven expertise in the African market
- Strong ability to critically analyze market data to make well-informed trading decisions
- Exceptional negotiation skills and experience in maritime chartering, with a successful track record in deal-making
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships
- Cultural awareness and understanding of diverse business practices across Africa
- Fluent in both French and English
