For one of our clients, an international agricultural commodity trading company, we are seeking a Head of Trading based in Dubai. He or she will be responsible for shaping the trading strategy, managing market risk, and leading a team of traders.

Your mission:

• Develop and implement the overall trading strategy for the company
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of traders, operators and analysts to ensure strong market execution and optimal performance.
• Stay ahead of market trends, geopolitical factors, and agricultural production forecasts to guide the trading decisions and maintain profitability.
• Oversee risk management practices and ensure that the company’s positions are hedged appropriately, ensuring a balance between risk and reward.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, buyers, and other stakeholders within the agricultural sector.
• Work closely with operations, logistics, and finance teams to optimize trading decisions, manage logistics, and ensure the smooth execution of trades.

Your profile:

• Minimum of 15 years of experience in trading agricultural commodities, with a deep understanding of the global agricultural market dynamics.
• Strong leadership experience, having led a team of traders, and a demonstrated ability to develop and execute trading strategies that drive business growth.
• A sharp understanding of market fundamentals, with the ability to anticipate trends and make informed, data-driven decisions.
• Proven experience in managing and mitigating market risks, ensuring the company’s trading positions are hedged and aligned with corporate risk tolerance.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage with internal teams and external clients or suppliers at a senior level.
• Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of additional languages will be an advantage.
