For one of our clients, an international commodity trading company, we are seeking an experienced Fertilizer Trader to be based in Geneva.
Your mission:
- Develop and manage a portfolio of clients, suppliers, and trading counterparties.
- Identify and capture new business opportunities through market analysis, pricing intelligence, and strong commercial origination.
- Negotiate fertilizer purchase and sales contracts, maximizing profitability while managing commercial, credit, operational, and price risk.
- Monitor fertilizer market trends, supply and demand dynamics, freight, pricing, availability, and regulatory developments.
- Collaborate with logistics, finance, risk, operations, and trade finance teams to ensure smooth contract execution.
- Develop new partnerships and contribute actively to the company’s commercial growth strategy.
- Maintain regular contact with customers, suppliers, brokers, producers, distributors, and service providers.
- Travel internationally to meet clients, suppliers, and partners.
Your profil:
- At least 10 years of experience as a Fertilizer Trader, with a proven track record in international fertilizer markets.
- Strong knowledge of fertilizer products such as urea, phosphates, potash, NPK, ammonia, sulphur, or related products.
- Well-established network of clients, suppliers, producers, distributors, and trading counterparties.
- Proven ability to originate, structure, negotiate, and execute profitable fertilizer trades.
- Strong exposure to European destination markets mandatory
- Good understanding of pricing mechanisms, logistics, freight, contract execution, and risk management.
- Autonomous, entrepreneurial, proactive, and able to operate in a fast-paced trading environment.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Fluent in English; any additional language would be an asset.
- Willingness to travel internationally.
