NEW - Senior Coffee/Cocoa Trader

Our client is a newly established trading company based in Geneva. They are looking to source, market, and deliver cocoa beans to a network of clients around the World.

Your mission :

  • Set up and execute the “origins” marketing & sales strategy for cocoa across Europe and Asia (positioning, pricing, campaigns, events)
  • Track market trends and competitive activity; identify opportunities by origins and recommend actions
  • Work strategically with key accounts to secure recurring volumes and co-build growth plans
  • Lead by example in results, professionalism, and customer focus
  • Partner cross-functionally (Sourcing, Risk, Logistics, Quality & Sustainability) to ensure flawless execution (hedging, contracts, shipments, claims, certifications/traceability)

 

Your profile :

  • 10+ years of successful sales/trading experience in the cocoa industry
  • Deep understanding of the European and Asian cocoa markets on destination side and solid knowledge of origins, qualities/grades (bulk vs fine/flavor), differentials, and certifications
  • Established network with European/Asian grinders, chocolate manufacturers, and confectionery buyers
  • Fluent in French and English; any additional language is a plus
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills; persuasive, analytical, and customer-oriented
  • Proven leadership managing commercial teams (goal setting, coaching, talent development)
  • Strong risk management skills: ICE Futures Europe cocoa (futures/options), basis and FX hedging, CRM, and Excel
