For one of our clients, an international agricultural commodities trading company, we are seeking an experienced Trade Finance Manager to join their team based in Paris. This role is an opportunity for a trade finance professional with strong exposure to physical commodities, banking relationships, and transaction execution in an international trading environment.
Your mission :
- Structure and negotiate trade finance solutions for agricultural commodities transactions, including letters of credit, guarantees, receivables finance, inventory finance, and borrowing base facilities.
- Manage the end-to-end financing process for physical trades, ensuring smooth coordination between trading, operations, finance, risk, legal, and banking partners.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with banks, financial institutions, insurers, and other financing partners.
- Support trading teams by providing adapted financing solutions based on commodity type, geography, counterparty, and transaction structure.
- Review trade finance documentation and ensure compliance with internal policies, banking requirements, KYC/AML procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Monitor facility utilization, credit lines, collateral coverage, financing costs, and transaction risks.
- Contribute to improving trade finance processes, reporting, controls, and working capital efficiency.
- Manage treasury aspects (cash management, cash forecast, etc...)
Your Profile :
- 8–10 years of experience in trade finance, structured trade finance, commodity finance, or transaction banking, ideally within agricultural commodities.
- Strong knowledge of agri commodities markets such as grains, oilseeds, vegetable oils, sugar, coffee, cocoa, cotton, pulses, or fertilizers.
- Solid understanding of trade finance instruments: LC, SBLC, guarantees, documentary collections, receivables finance, inventory finance, borrowing base, and transactional finance.
- Experience working with banks, commodity traders, financial institutions, or structured trade finance teams.
- Good understanding of physical commodity flows, including contracts, logistics, shipping documents, storage, insurance, and payment mechanisms.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Fluent in English; French or another relevant language would be an asset.
- Rigorous, solutions-oriented, and able to operate in a fast-paced international trading environment.
