For one of our clients, an international company active in physical commodity trading, we are currently recruiting a Senior Structured & Trade Finance Officer to join its finance team in Geneva.
Your mission:
- Structure, negotiate and execute tailored financing solutions, including prepayment facilities, pre-export finance, borrowing bases, warehouse financing, asset-backed lending and risk participations
- Manage the preparation and negotiation of financing and security documentation in coordination with internal stakeholders and external legal advisers
- Develop and maintain relationships with banks, institutional lenders, investors, insurers and insurance brokers
- Secure and manage credit insurance solutions covering prepayment and open-account exposures
- Manage trade finance instruments, including Letters of Credit, Standby Letters of Credit, bank guarantees and bilateral facilities
- Ensure compliance with applicable international trade finance rules, including UCP 600
- Assess counterparty and transactional risks, monitor collateral structures and support the implementation of appropriate risk-mitigation measures
- Prepare financing, exposure and risk reports for senior management
- Work closely with Trading, Operations, Legal, Risk and other Finance functions to support the financing of physical commodity transactions
Your profile:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field
- Minimum 7 years of experience in Trade Finance, including proven exposure to Structured Finance transactions
- Experience within a commodity trading company or another physical trading environment is strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of prepayment structures, pre-export finance, borrowing bases, asset-backed lending and trade finance instruments
- Sound understanding of credit analysis, collateral management, Incoterms and transactional risk
- Strong financial modelling and Excel skills
- Ability to structure and execute transactions independently in a hands-on environment
- Strong negotiation, analytical and stakeholder-management capabilities
- Fluent English and French are required
- Swiss citizenship or a valid Swiss work permit
