For one of our clients, a dynamic and rapidly growing energy trading house, we are seeking a skilled and proactive Paralegal to join their Gas & Power Trading Legal Team. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in supporting the build out of a trading desk operating at the forefront of the European energy transition.
Your mission:
- Draft, review, and negotiate ISDA Master Agreements, EFET General Agreements, and Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) for gas and power transactions with UK and European counterparties
- Manage Credit Support Annexes (CSAs) and ensure documentation aligns with current UK/EU collateral, margin, and regulatory frameworks
- Maintain an organised contract repository and track key contractual milestones, renewals, and compliance obligations
- Collaborate closely with traders, risk, operations, and compliance teams to ensure documentation supports business objectives and mitigates risk
- Monitor evolving market practices and regulations (EMIR, REMIT, MiFID II) and update templates and playbooks accordingly
- Support KYC/AML processes, onboarding of new counterparties, and communication with external counsel
- Contribute to internal projects aimed at optimising contract management systems and enhancing legal infrastructure
Your profile:
- Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal certification; legal or business law studies preferred
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in energy trading or financial services, with hands-on exposure to ISDA and EFET documentation
- Strong understanding of PPAs and the dynamics of physical and financial power/gas markets
- Familiarity with UK/EU regulatory frameworks, including EMIR, REMIT, and MiFID II
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, international trading environment
- Excellent communication, drafting, and organisational skills, with strong attention to detail
- Team-oriented mindset and a proactive, solution-driven approach
